Privacy policy

This site is run by me, Niels Reijnders — a freelance web developer working under the name Uprounded, based in the Netherlands. For the personal data described on this page, I am the controller. Questions about any of it: niels@uprounded.nl.

The short version: I only receive data you actively type into a form, I use it to reply to you, and this site runs no analytics and sets no cookies.

What I collect

Only what you give me:

  • Project and contact forms — your name, email, company, website or project links, your message and the options you pick (project type, hours, budget). The form saves your progress per step, so a half-finished form may already have stored your name and email.
  • Booking a call — your name, email and the time slot you choose.
  • Direct email — if you mail me, I have whatever you send.

There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The site sets no cookies at all — the only thing kept in your browser is your scroll position, in session storage, gone when you close the tab.

Why I collect it

To reply to your inquiry, put together a proposal and plan a call — the usual steps before working together. In GDPR terms: pre-contractual steps at your request, and my legitimate interest in running a business.

Where it goes

Your data is never sold. It only touches the services that keep this site running:

  • Hosting — the site runs on Vercel, so requests pass through their infrastructure and logs.
  • Database — form and booking data is stored in my own Postgres database on a Hetzner server in the EU.
  • Email and calendar — mail is sent through Google Workspace. When a call is booked I create a Google Calendar event with your email as attendee; Google sends you the invite and the Meet link.

One thing worth knowing: while you type a website link into the form, your browser fetches that site’s favicon from Google’s favicon service to show a small preview — so Google sees the domain you typed.

How long I keep it

As long as needed to handle your request, and afterwards as part of my normal project administration. If we never end up working together and you’d rather be forgotten, one email is enough.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what I have about you, and have it corrected, exported or deleted — or object to me using it at all. Mail niels@uprounded.nl and I’ll sort it out. Not happy with my answer? You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If the way this site handles data changes, this page changes with it — the date above always reflects the latest revision.
